Loving Pottery Bowls

I had a great weekend even though Matt and I did spend time together. Kinda weird being alone... I think this is only the third time since I moved.
Friday night I got a haircut, shopped at Kroger, cooked dinner, and then did some cleaning followed by crafts (I'll post tomorrow or another day).
Of course I also looked online and watched lots and lots of TV.

Saturday I did some shopping at Kohl's and Meijer.
I had to buy an undergarment to go under my bridesmaid's dress and while there I checked out the clearance racks where I found some plain t-shirts for $4.00 each. Good deal for me since I wear these too work while they still look new and then I wear them around the house.
I bought 2 pairs of jean capris at Meijer for $3.00 each... don't laugh or judge me, but they are maternity capris.
I figured
1. I don't care,
2. No one will know,
3. They are comfortable, and
4. They were cheap!
What can I say, normal capris were upsetting me.
:)
Remember, I am on Weight Watchers now making a lifestyle change so I will be able to donate them after this season.

I also rented Letters to Juliet (cute movie) and Dear John (which I have already seen).

Today I went to church - ALL BY MYSELF for the first time! I wasn't even a little bit nervous like I thought I would be. I am very proud of myself. It's all about baby steps.

Then I went to my friend Shelley's house (after buying 4 newspapers which I checked and still 2 of them were missing one insert each). She showed me her home and taught me some things about pottery making which is her passion.
I took one picture while there of our bowls.
Mine is the one in the back.
(Looks like 2 boobs... he he he!)
When I took this picture, we still weren't done.
Still not done as of now either... mine will be changing to artwork to display on my bookshelf.
We made these with our hands. She weighed one pound of clay for both of us and then we removed the air from it. We then made a ball and stuck our thumb about halfway inside to start the inside of the bowl.
She is very talented. I am so glad I went to her house and learn the basics.

Now for some randomness of the week....
Thursday night I made some mac and cheese in my rice cooker from the blog "Joy of Cooking" (see the side of my blog for the link).
My mom made this last weekend for a side dish with lunch last weekend and I loved how simple and easy it was.
Before I got the picture above, I got the one below.
My camera that I have had since November 2004 is starting to die. I am sad. Good thing I am getting a new one. I think I will go buy it tomorrow. (I'll let you know for sure Matt.)

Went to CVS after buying newspapers today for the rechargeable toothbrush which will be free after coupons and CVS bucks. Both stores I went to were sold out and gave me a rain check. Did you even know they did rain checks? I did not. Actually, that's not true. I did know it, but must have forgotten.
The guy at the first store asked me if I wanted one since they only had one in the store which was sold first thing this morning. Obviously, I agreed.

I wasn't gonna go to Walgreens today.
However, at 9 PM this evening when I was reading the blogs on my scroll bar on the left I saw how Clorox wipes are 2 for $5.00 and when you buy two, get $2.00 in Register Rewards. Like them on Facebook and you can print 2 $1.00 off coupons. Right now, Walgreens has a glitch in the computer where you buy 2 for $5.00 and you will get 2 $2.00 Register Rewards making them $0.50 each or if you have 2 coupons, $1.00 money maker. I bought 2 for the $1.00 money maker and then 2 more for $1.00. In the end, I got 4 for free!

Good night bloggy friends!

WW Online

I joined Weight Watchers online last night.

Whoo hoo!

Go me!

Step 1: Join

Check!

I officially started counting my points today. Sadly, I have already gone over my allotted 25 points. By 2.5 points...
I will keep working at it and do better.
What really messed me up was dinner.... my foot long Subway turkey sandwich was 11 points! I didn't fully eat it so I only used 9.5 points... I will not be eating there again anytime soon. Not worth it at all! I don't really even like Subway. I just went there because I thought a sandwich would be low points in comparison to something else I could have ate. Should have gotten the grilled chicken salad from McDonald's like I really wanted.

I am going on vacation/ my best friend's wedding soon and I have decided I will still count my points and try to make good choices, but I will not force myself to do great. I want to be able to enjoy eating while on vacation. Plus, we will have to eat out of most of our meals so it is too hard to do great.
Matt is wanting to try a bunch of seafood places so maybe I can do good on some days. My biggest obstacle will be overeating. At least I will get some exercise walking along the ocean.

I Think I'll Try Again

If you know me or having been reading my blog for awhile then you already know I was on Weight Watchers and lost a little over 20 pounds (about a year or more ago). I then moved for a better (more secure) job away from my family and friends and gained back all the weight (plus 17 more pounds).
Although I have wanted to do something about all the extra weight for awhile, I don't seem to have enough motivation to stop buying candy and sweet treats.
However, I have decided that all needs to change.
And it needs to change now.

Because,
I hate how I look in clothes.
I hate how my clothes don't fit me like they used to.
I hate trying on new clothes.
I hated trying on a bathing suit.
I hate getting on the scale.
I hate exercising even though I know I need to just do it.
I hate cooking for just one.
I hate how I feel after eating greasy food.
I hate feeling over stuffed.
I hate the looks.
I hate how I feel when I look at myself in the mirror.
I hate the disappointment I feel.
I hate feeling sorry for myself.

All these hates equal up to three solutions..... I need to:
1. Lose Weight
2. Exercise
3. Eat healthy

In return:
I will love shopping for clothes.
I will love trying on clothes.
I will love how I look in my clothes.
I will love how I look.
I will love how I feel.
I will love my confidence.
I will love getting on the scale.
I will love to walk.
I will love to cook (a little).
I will love to go out.
I will love me.

I think the pros outweigh the cons.
I will join Weight Watchers online tomorrow.
Buy 3 months get one free.
What a great time to join.
I can do it.
I know I can.
I am motivated.
I feel it in my bones.
I just needed a nudge.
A push.
A blessing in disguise.
I need to keep this momentum up.
And if I have one bad day, I will move on. I will recover.

My Love Bug

Who's the cutest baby out there?

Well I know who....

But do you know who?

I'll give you a few guesses.

He's a boy...

He's furry...

He's tan colored...

Any guesses?

I know you know who...

Scroll to the top of my blog for another clue.

Give up?

It's Wyatt!
My little love bug!
Isn't he the cutest?
So sweet looking!
Did you happen to check out what he is laying on?
That is my Princess Jasmine comforter.
I used to LOVE princess Jasmine!
I had the action figures AND the Barbie dolls for both Princess Jasmine and Aladdin.

Good memories!

Couponing = LOVE/HATE Relationship

I love using coupons and and getting good deals.
However, I also hate using coupons.
I guess you could say me and coupons have a love/hate relationship.
You shouldn't get dirty looks from the cashier or other customers when you use coupons. Luckily, this doesn't happen to me very often. I have read on several blogs how some people have had horrible experiences. :(

I did have a negative experience at Toys R Us today... I went to use 3 coupons for $4.00 off certain board games.
I figured this would be easy. My only concern was would they allow me to use a coupon on the third game since they were buy 2 get one free.
I picked out the 3 games I wanted and brought them to the register. (I planned on donating these for Christmas - along with my four Connect 4 games I got free after coupons earlier in the year.)
She scanned all 3 items and then I handed her my coupons. While I was getting my wallet out of my purse she was actually reading the coupons and said I could only use 1 per purchase.
So I told the lady never mind, I don't want them. She seemed annoyed but said okay.
Once in the car, I did confirm the coupons do say one per purchase and not one per item.
Why do they make coupons like this?
And second, they hardly ever read the coupons... why did this lady do it?
I'm so upset!
I don't blame her, but I feel I never want to go to Toys R Us again!
Am I being too dramatic?
I might try this deal one more time on Saturday.
Maybe.
I need to think about it.

CVS has a good deodorant deal going on right now.
Right Guard Total 5 deodorant is on sale for $2.99 each and you get back $2.00 on each one (limit 3).
I had coupons for $3.00 off 2 and $1.50 off on 1.
Making them $1.50 each and then I got back $2.00 on each one.
$0.50 profit on each deodorant! Total profit of $3.00.
I bought 3 on my card and 3 on Matt's.
If you live near a CVS store and have these coupons, now is a GREAT time to stock up!
If I had more coupons I would get even more.

I did some good shopping over the weekend too.
Target had all these good deals:
Brown sticker $1 items were 75% off....as were many more items...
2 Yoga DVDs were $0.25 each
4 file folders were $0.25 each
2-pack of 8x10 picture frames = $1.49 each (I plan on painting these)
3-pack of pictures frames $0.62
Hot Pepper Planter $2.48
Strawberry Planter $3.24
I also bought a charcoal grill which was $29.99 and I got it for $7.00
Target has some good clearance deals on all summer stuff, sheets and many more items so check that out as well. Target is my favorite store when they have good clearance deals.

We did some shopping at Harris Teeter for the double coupon deal up to $1.98.
Bought a bunch of items for good deals. Did not take any pictures - sorry.
Got mad at the first Harris Teeter who refused to double my coupons that said "Do not double" even though they scanned as double off.

Oh, the adventures of couponing....

Great Deals

What does going to 2 Walgreens, CVS, and Wal-Mart get you?

Aren't you going to ask me what it got me?

Thank you for asking!

It gets you all this (plus more not worth showing since I didn't get awesome deals on the not shown items)...
Walgreens:
Trident Gum $1 each
- $1 off 2 Walgreens coupon
- $1 off 3 manufacture coupon
= 6 packs for $1

Thank goodness - I was almost out of gum!
I bought 18 packs so I am good for awhile now.
Glade Reed Diffuser $2.59 each on clearance (was $8.99)
- $2.00 off manufacture coupon
= $0.59 each

DayQuil/NyQuil $5.00 each (Regular kind)
- $1.50 off manufacture coupon
= $3.50 each
Get back $5.00 RR with purchase of 2
= $1.00 each

DayQuil/NyQuil Cherry Vanilla $5.99 each
- $2.00 off Walgreens coupon
- $1.50 off manufacture coupon
= $2.49 each
Get back $5.00 RR with purchase of 2
= $0.02 Profit

I should have waited to buy the first DayQuil/NyQuil from the first store I went to since I was looking for the Cherry Vanilla. I still plan on checking a few more store - I have 2 more DayQuil coupons to use. These don't expire until 2012 so I have plenty of tiem to use them.

CVS:
Nivea Men's body Wash $4.99
- $1.00 manufacturer coupon
= $3.99
Used $3.99 in CVS Bucks
Got back $4.99 in CVS Bucks
= $1.00 profit

Wal-Mart:
Post-It Notes $1.00 each
- $1.00 manufacturer coupon
= FREE

I was hoping to use the Post-It Notes as money makers - they are on clearance for $0.75 at my mom's local Wal-Mart, but I am happy to get these free. I might go get me some more.
If I really do open my own business one day, I am all set with these. :)

I did good, huh?

If you are looking for sugar-candy (or any candy really), check out Walgreens - my store had all sorts on clearance. Hopefully your does too if you are wanting some.

I Love My TV

There’s a time for love and a time for living.
You take a chance and face the wind.
An open road and a road that’s hidden
A brand new life around the bend.

There were times when I lost a dream or two.
Found the trail, and at the end was you.
There’s a path you take and a path untaken
The choice is up to you my friend.

Nights are long but you’re on your way
To a brand new life,
Brand new life,
Brand new life around the bend.
Who's the Boss is on Hallmark channel now!
I used to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!
So excited it is on TV once again!

Were you singing the song in your head???
He he he.... I was.

It brings me back....

Now if they would only bring back Growing Pains...

Cheap Ziploc Tupperwares

You are going to be shocked with where I went shopping this weekend for some cheap Tupperware.

I went to Meijer.
Sometimes a deal is too good to pass up.
I couldn't help myself!

I saw online how you could buy Ziploc Tupperware for $2.58 each
- $1.50 off 2 manufacture coupons
- $1.50 off 2 Meijer coupons
= $2.16
Then got back $1.50 for each 2 I bought to spend on my next purchase
= $0.66 for 2 or $0.33 each

Well worth shopping there.
Don't you think?
I needed some news ones since I have been throwing some of my older ones out.
I plan on going through my coupons to see if I can do this a deal a few more times.
The Meijer coupons expire on September 16 or 17.

Also, I need to check out the Ziploc baggies. Rumor has it the same deal is working. I will have to test this out. I think it will be even cheaper.
I hope so!

P.S.
Starting this Wednesday, Harris Teeter is having there SUPER DOUBLE COUPON event where they double up to 20 coupons per purchase up to $1.99 each.
Whoo hoo!
Start going through your coupons.... I know I will.
(I bought 5 newspapers today, but of course 2 of them shorted me.)

It's Your Birthday G!

Hope you have a fun day!
Hope the beer cheese and pizza was yummy!

Party hard!

Trick Or Treat

I went to Kroger yesterday to buy a few things I needed and I stumbled on items being marked down 75% off.
They had all sorts of school supplies and candy... so be on the lookout if you are needing these items.

I found me the color pencils I had been wanting ever since I saw them this summer at Staples but swore I would never pay THAT much money for colored pencils.
Hello! I am frugal, remember?
I paid $0.98!
Wish I had bought another pack.
I know, I know... what on Earth do I need colored pencils for?
I will find a use don't you worry.
Even if I have to buy a coloring book.
Actually, I kinda want a coloring book... coloring used to be so much fun! Maybe I would still enjoy it.

I also saw candy  - 6-packs for $1.07 I wanted for myself as well as a Christmas project my mom found online for us to do together closer to the holiday. I decided to purchase 3 packs.
(Not that I needed them or anything.... don't judge me.)

After buying my colored pencils, chocolate, and other miscellaneous items I started thinking.
When I was younger, I remember once getting a full sized candy bar from trick or treating and thinking I was special/lucky. How nice would it be to have other kids feel this way. I doubt I will get more then 30 or so trick or treaters and I would probably spend $5 or more anyways so I might as well buy 5 6-packs.
So I did.
I have already hid them from myself because I know me. I will eat them if I see them and I am hungry or having a bad day.

Good deals right?

Welcome To My Door

My favorite part of any season or holiday are the decorations!
(After the spending time with family and friends part.)

I get so excited when there is something new I can buy for the right price and display it proudly.
(Hence why I buy so many clearance items.)
I have slacked on my front door for MONTHS.
I mean months!
My door was just as plain as can be.

I'm back into my groove...

Mom and I went to the Dollar Store over the weekend and I bought some fall decorations. Just wait till you see what my door looks like for Halloween! I'm way too excited over the Halloween decorations I bought and the ones I already had that I bought last year.

The fall item I bought for my door is:
I'm sure you need a closer look.
:)
You too can have one of these bad boys for the low price of $1.00

And yes, I do realize it is not technically fall yet.
However, I don't care!
Cooler weather means fall-ish times are here to stay and should be celebrated... with fall decorations of course!

Cute Faces

I had full intentions of blogging about my best friend's wedding and how much it is costing me. However, I have spent the last 2 hours looking at hotels trying to find the best deals.
I think I found us the perfect one.
Neither one of us have been to the ocean in YEARS!
How if I could only get my BF to return my call..

Check out these sweet faces - I promise to write a good post tomorrow....

3 Day Weekend

Where does the time go???

I loved my much needed 3 day weekend.
:)
I wish all weekends were 3 days.
I might be less grumpy if they were.
Wouldn't that be nice?

One day if when I own my own business - maybe I will have the luxury of 3 day weekends.
Wishful thinking.
I could live without the 3 day weekends.
2 day weekends are enough when you have job satisfaction.
I would like to be able to bring Wyatt to work with me though.
And be my own boss.
I think I would make a good boss.

Just imagine!

Dreamy!

I have some ideas floating around in my head.
Maybe I need to take a leap of faith in the future.
I need A LOT more research before then.

My career path is not the point of my post.
I apologize for getting off track.
Wont happen again.
Scout's honor!
(Picture me all serious.)

You already know what I did Saturday....

Yesterday Matt and I went to the zoo.
I enjoy the zoo!
Usually.
It was just very crowded which made it hot.
Way too many small children around me.

Some of the animals we saw...

We also went to the Farmer's Market to buy a few fruits and veggies.

We went and ate some popcorn at Target.... they have the BEST popcorn! It is always so yummy and fresh tasting! Only $1.50 for a popcorn and soda. Good deal, right? We think so.
After target we went back to my mom's house to hangout and then went to Jersey Mike's for dinner.

Today my mom and I did some light shopping.
We made a craft which was not dried by the time I left so you will have to wait and see it at a later date.

Wow!
10PM already!
Time for me to go to sleep.
I'll blog more tomorrow.
I have so much to say for once!

The Loveless Cafe

Loveless Cafe is the famous place Matt and I finally visited yesterday.
He had seen it on Food Network and G has ate there before and recommended going there over the years.
Matt and I always talked about going and I really don't know why we never made it.
That all changed yesterday!
It was such a beautiful day that we decided we might as well.
It really wasn't too far from my mom's house... about an hour or so.
We got there around 5 and were told it would be an hour and ten minute wait.
Perfect!
We wanted to check out all the little shops around the Cafe which were orignally the motel rooms.
This is the "motel rooms" on the right side of the Cafe. The rooms have been changed over the years into little shops. We only went into one of them - the art gallery store. OMG - the cheapest painting we saw was for $400 and it was so small! Who in there right mind would buy those items! No wonder the gallery was closing! Even if I could afford to buy something there, I am SURE I would be too frugal to do that. I'm not saying they were not done nicely - they were very beautiful - I just could never spend that much.

So we continued our walk around the area skipping the rest of the small stores.
The back "motel rooms" showcased Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas - I used to love that movie. Remember it?
Let's get a closer look of them...

The back of the Cafe had these neat signs...
The last side of the Cafe had there signature store. We bought some licorice for $3.95 - kinda expensive, but we both enjoy eating these. We decided on the multi pack so we could try all the flavors.
Truth - we bought the multi pack so us heifers wouldn't buy the Green Apple pack AND the Grape pack!
:)
They were yummy!
Funny how are favorite flavors are our favorite colors!
I always tell Matt I like EVERYTHING purple!

Here's the front and back of the smokehouse...
I wish we had been there when food was being smoked.

that smell!!!!

MMMmmmmmm.....

Check out this cute sign...

When we FINALLY got paged to eat, we were so hungry!
The place is definitely bigger then the outside makes it look.

The biscuits are actually as good as they claim them to be!
(I didn't like any of there jams though.)

I ordered the Loveless BLT knowing Matt would share some of his food with me.
The gravy for my mashed potatoes was delicious!

Matt ordered the pick 3 combo.
He choose the fried chicken and ham.
I choose the pulled pork.
We both ate some of everything.
His side dishes were fried green tomatoes (not pictured) and macaroni - I wasn't impressed with either.
The meat was all very tasty!
I enjoyed the ham the best. I thought it would be salty - it wasn't.

We don't usually order dessert, but we decided to share some banana pudding. Tasted like mine - still good though.

No trip is complete without a picture:

Check out there website if you are ever planning on being in the area.
It was worth the trip.
