More Soap... FREE!

Did a little shopping yesterday.
Bought 3 more bottles of hand soap from CVS for $5.90 (after tax) and got back $5.00 in CVS money on Matt's card.
Such a good deal!
I wont need anymore soap for while.
I will probably have to buy another dispeser when I have a coupon and it is on sale. I have some time though since I still have 2 more bottles of Bath and Body hand soap.

I bought 2 packs of highlighters from Staples for $0.25 each.
Also from Staples for $0.25, 4 little Tupperware cases - not sure what I will put in these yet. I thought they were too cute to pass!

Here's the best picture of the week!

Free Handsoap

I had read on Hip2Save's blog that CVS had Softsoap refills for $3 each - buy $15 worth and get $5 to use on your next purchase. To make this deal even sweeter, the soap refills have $2 off peelie coupons on them. This makes them $1 each and you still get back $5 when you buy 5 - MAKING THEM FREE!
My favorite price!
I paid $5.90 and got back $5 to use on my next purchase.
You can only do this deal once per card.
I hope to do it again tomorrow with Matt's card.
I needed more soap so this is awesome!
  • (Sorry they don't have CVS near you mom!)
The lady Speed Stick is the 1.4 ounce (the smaller one) deodorant.
Right now at Kroger it is on sale for $0.88
If you still have last Sunday's paper, make sure you clip out the coupon for $0.50 off which makes this free!

What Do You Haul?

Lets call this a blog of randomness.
Sound good to you?
It does to me too!
Glad you agree.
:)

I was going to work my way up to this picture, but I decided to start off with it. Who carse about the old saying "save the best for last". I wanted to start with the best!

I wasn't sure what it was from far away.
I knew whatever it was, it seemed peculiar.
Boy was I right!
I was driving on I-65 North yesterday from my mom's house to mine and this is what I happened to see.
Of course I couldn't resist taking a picture!
I sure was glad my camera was in my purse and my purse was on the seat next to me.
This was a once in a lifetime shot.
It's not everyday you see someone moving a plane in a Budget truck.
I wonder if the driver was concerned it might fall out?
Hmmmm....

I took this picture in my mom's yard when letting Wyatt out.
Not sure why the butterfly was in the grass and not a tree or something.
Wyatt walked right by the butterfly and never noticed it.
I was a little worried he would sniff the poor creature.
He was still sick though.

Mommy's Baby

SO cute!
This was Wyatt Friday night before getting sick.

My poor Wyatt has been sick since Saturday.
:(

I'm not sure if he was not feeling well since he didn't have his regular dog food in the past few days, or if he was feeling sick because his role as fuzzy vacuum sweeper caused him to eat something he shouldn't have ate. (He always eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that looks remotely like food - he's worse than a 2 year old.)
He was drinking water, but not eating. We tried to give him some oatmeal Sunday morning - he didn't want any. Last night I tried to feed him tiny pieces of apple and one piece of popcorn (both of which he loves!) he only sniffed, but didn't want to eat.

I felt so bad for my little guy!
I didn't know how to help him.
He just wanted to sleep. And he felt warm.

He did eat some dog food this morning that I made soggy by soaking it in water. He ate about 8 pieces.
I was so happy!
I left him some more soggy food that I hoped he would eat - he didn't.

I planned on taking him to the vet today after work if he still seemed sick....

LUCKILY...
My baby boy seems to be doing well. I guess he needed some food in him to perk him back up. I was so relieved! He ate some more food out of my hand too. Now he just needs to poop! I tried walking him - no luck yet.

Need Some Crackers For Your Dip?

I did.
I have this yummy jalapeno dip I had bought while in Nashville last week (Trader Joe's) and my mom had no crackers for it meaning I had to go out in this sweltering heat to buy some. I stopped at Walgreens first since they are the closest place thinking they would have some.
I was wrong and I am a big enough person to admit I was wrong. :)
My next stop was Kroger where I had better luck.

I bought all 10 of these boxes for $6.67 after tax.
I saved 83%
They are part of Kroger's Mega Sale deal going on through today. Buy any 10 participating items and get $5.00 off your purchase.

These were on sale for $1.99 each.
Buy 10 to get $5.00 off or $0.50 off each one
So $1.49 each
Well, see the green coupons on the bottom boxes?
Here's a closer look...
I pulled 5 of these coupons off to get them Buy 1 get 1 free.
The cashier took off $1.99 from each coupon.
Which brought my total down even more then I expected!

Kroger Catalina Update

This is in response to my previous post...

After calling the number to the Catalina department, again, the recording gave me an email address to send the request to or I could I wait on the line for the next operator.
Since I was at work when I called, I decided to send them an email with the requested information.

The response I received today from them was as follows:
Thank you for contacting the Catalina Marketing Helpdesk,

Thank you for providing your information. Your request has been forwarded to the Fulfillment Department for processing.
Please allow 6-8 weeks for your request to be processed.
Your reference number for this request is____XXXXXXX____
Please be sure to include this number along with the word fulfillment on any correspondence.
Thank You

They sure say "thank you" a bunch, huh?
So I guess I still don't know if I will receive the money back. I will post later once I know more. I am hoping they do right by me, but we will see.

I'm Mad At Kroger Right Now

If you read my previous post you know about the awesome deal Kraft has going on right now when you buy 5 participating items.
You also know I was going to do the deal one more time to be fully stocked on cheese until the next sale.

So I went to Kroger and picked out all my items, scanned all my items followed by my coupons, paid and then my receipt and change came back... oh ya, I was at the annoying long lined Kroger by me and I choose to go to the self check-out line - which I hate.
Guess what didn't happen?
My Catalina for $5.00 off my next shopping trip didn't print.
I am thinking the Catalina machine was out of paper.
So I go to the cashier and tell her what happened and she said I would have to call them about it.
Call who I ask?
She said Kroger - number on the back of my Kroger Plus card.
Fine, I will call them from the parking lot.
I call them and explain the situation and the lady gives me a number to the Catalina department.
I call the Catalina department only to get there answering service - a real person by the way.
She wanted to know if I wanted to call tomorrow or leave a message.
OMG!
Why do they have an answering service when they can just be working?
Most call centers when closed have a voice recording!
I am so mad at the moment!
I will call again tomorrow morning, I am hoping they make me happy again.
I would hate to have to boycott Kroger.
Odds are Kroger should have stocked the Catalina machine with paper and I wouldn't of had this problem. So unless the Cataline department can add the $5.00 to my card.....

Wish me luck!

Cheap Kraft Cheese

My mom is here taking care of me which has been nice. I'll miss her when she is gone.

We stayed up late watching Twilight and New Moon.
:)
We went and saw Eclipse in theater today... third time for me!
(I know for sure I have NEVER seen the same movie in theater 3 times.... just goes to show you how big a fan I really am - or how obsessed I am.)

We did do some more shopping at Kroger today.
Here's the deal....
Kroger has there Mega Deals sale going on - buy any 10 participating items get $5 off.
You can do this deal twice in one purchase. If you want to do this deal more, separate your purchases.
Kraft cheese is one of the participating items.
When I was at my mom's house we saw the local Kroger had these on the cheese (so do the ones here):
Buy 5 or more Kraft cheeses and get $5 back to spend on a future purchase.
Mom and I both bought 6 at a time twice today.

Kraft cheese on sale $2.38
- $0.50 each when you buy 10 items
= $1.88 each
Used $1.00 off 2 coupons
= $1.38 each
Buy more then 5 in the purchase get $5 back
Making them $0.38 each
Since I bought 6 at a time, they were $3.28 for them all or $0.55 each.

The $1.00 off coupons were found in front of the cheese section. These coupons were at all 3 Kroger stores we went to.
Now is the time to stock up. I might buy one more set of 6.

When I was at my mom's house yesterday I thought it would be nice to buy cupcakes from a local cupcake store for the four of us.
They look yummy, but really weren't that great.
They were WAY to rich tasting!
I was very disappointed.
They cost $3.75 each and weren't the nicest ones I have ever seen.

My mom had bought fresh blueberries and froze them.
She washed them, dried them, and then laid them out on a cookie sheet and placed them in the freezer.
Once they were completely frozen she placed them in Ziplock bags for the freezer. How easy! I will remember this when for when I see a good deal on fresh blueberries.

Couponing Is Fun!

I came home to Tennessee with Matt on Sunday to stay at my mom's so she can help me out while my foot is healing.
She is coming home with me tomorrow to stay for a few days which I am looking forward to. (We plan on watching all the Twilight movies - meaning, I get to see Eclipse again!)

Today we decided to go to Harris Teeter and Publix so I could show my mom how couponing is properly done.
She needed/wanted my expertise.
I bet now she's laughing.
Stop laughing.
:)
She has been searching, printing and cutting out coupons for the past week or two in preparation for this day. Like me, she wants to save some money by using coupons. I keep telling her just how simple it really is.
Considering this was her first time doing it by herself, she did pretty good.
At Publix, she saved a little over 50% on her bill.
Whoo hoo!
In time, her coupon stash will be bigger and she will save even more money.

After resting my foot for a few hours and eating dinner, Matt and I went to Books-A-Million and Hollywood Video. If you live near my mom, you should check the local Hollywood Video if you are wanting some new movies. They are going out of business and all movies are now 70% off. They have definitely been picked over - consider yourself warned. Both the movies I really wanted - Couples Retreat and Four Christmases - they did not have in stock.
I did manage to buy 2 and Matt got 2 (not pictured).
At Books-A-Million I bought one book about a woman who starts to become thrifty (I couldn't resist).

While looking around Books-A-Million I saw a bunch of books I need for my collection of my favorite authors.
However, I rarely buy books at full cost so I will just have to wait a little while longer. This wont be so hard to do since I plan on borrowing my mom's Left Behind series.
Maybe I will go to Goodwill this weekend and see if they have any good ones....

Crown Before Foot Examine; Followed By Eyes

What a month July has been for me already!
What a week is what I should be saying.
Where should I begin....

Wednesday I went and had my crown put in on the tooth that had the root canal 3 weeks prior.
I rushed from work to get there only to have to wait 30 minutes before even being called back.
I hate when that happens!
It is my fault though for scheduling the appointment for so close to when I get off work. Although in my defense, I would have had plenty of time had I not had to stay 15 minutes late - that threw my whole schedule off!
I was a little nervous when the dental assistant told me she would be wiggling the temporarily filling to get it out. I couldn't wrap my head around this - it didn’t seem possible!
Seriously, how do you wiggle a filling out???
I felt slight pressure on my tooth followed by (yes) wiggling and then she said it was out.
Amazing!
Makes me wonder how it didn't come out when I ate or brushed my teeth.
Glad it didn't.
Good thing I listened to them when they said not to eat chewy food.
:)
They cemented the crown onto my remaining tooth and that was it.
You can't even tell it's a crown since it matches my other teeth perfectly.
The actual procedure was very simple and I was nervous for nothing.
Literally felt no pain.
If you ever have a crown put on, don't be scared.

Thursday I believe was uneventful.
I don't even remember what I did after work - just goes to show you how boring it must have been.
Moving on to Friday....
I had a doctor appointment (for my foot) and an eye appointment scheduled.
I left work two hours early to see a family doctor to look at my foot since it had been 8 days and my foot was still swollen and in pain. I was starting to get a little worried something might be wrong.
He compared both my feet, twisted and applied pressure on it, and had me push down on the gas.
He he he!
(Honk, honk!)
Told me I probably broke a blood vessel and stretched/ pulled some muscles. He told me I needed to stay off my feet for awhile to help it heal quicker. I will be off work until Friday resting. Thursday I go back to the doctor to make sure I am having good progress and can go back to work. He would have allowed me to go to work if I had been able to assure him I would stay off my feet, but I could not make this promise - we are always on our feet. Have to be when you are so short staffed.
I am going to love time off of work, but fear all the stuff that wont be done.
Might have to do some overtime this weekend to catch up, but we will see.

Right after the doctor I went to my eye appointment.
This was the worse place out of all 3 of them!
Should have been the easiest!
I was there for 2 hours!
I have never been at the eye doctor for that amount of time.
He was obviously very thorough.
My eyes were SO sore afterwards.
He dilated them as well. I sure the heck didn't want that done!
Very hard to see afterwards.
I had to drive myself home - amazing I made it.
Very scary.
I took a nap when I got home and didn't wake until Matt got there.
My eyes were still dilated when I went to bed for the night - not fun at all.

Georgetown, IN Drive-in Movie Theater

(The view from where we parked.)

Last night we decided to try out the drive-in movie theater about 35 miles from where I live. I always have a nice time when we go to the drive-in. I feel we get our money's worth since they show 2 movies for the price of one.

We were concerned it was going to rain. And it did. :(
That sucked. We had to roll up the windows and turn the car on at one point. We allowed the rain to hit us when it was just drizzling.
Plus, it was hot!
We didn't get home until 3 AM... I think that is the latest I have stayed up since New Moon came out on DVD.

This drive-in has 2 screens, both of which played 2 movies in a row.
We watched Inception and Eclipse (for the second time).
$9 a person
Fun, but was not set up as nicely as the Waverly, TN drive-in. Didn't seem like it held as many cars. They did have a huge snack bar. We bought us popcorn - we brought our own candy and drinks. (I'm cheap - remember?)

I will go back again.
I enjoyed myself.
We just need to pick a cooler night.
Over the weekend we also rented Eli and The Bounty Hunter.
Both movies were great!
I recommend renting them both.
It's about time Matt and I picked out some good movies. I was getting annoyed with renting stupid movies.

Stephenie Meyer - You're Welcome!

By now you know how addicted I am to the Twilight series.
So addicted that I have 4 copies of Twilight, 3 copies of New Moon, 2 copies of Eclipse, and 1 copy of Breaking Dawn in my possession which doesn't include the copy of Eclipse or Breaking Dawn I already sold.
(I'm not THAT obsessed, but since I usually buy my books used I needed a perfect set and it took me that long to get the right ones. Now I just need to sell all the extras. Of course, now that I am a full pledged fan I buy all her current books new to support her sales.)

Don't judge me!

Well over the weekend I was visiting my mother and was talking about Eclipse the movie and how awesome it was and how it was pretty close to the book - my favorite in case you were interested.
I told her she needed to read the books. Since I had my extras in my car truck she said she would read them sometime soon.
Imagine my surprise when I talk to my mom today after work and learn she has almost finished the first book!
:)

(Insert happy dance)

She's hooked!

Your welcome Stephenie Meyer.
Summit Entertainment, your welcome.
It will be no time at all before she finishes the three books she has and will need me to come home and loan her Breaking dawn and Bree's story.

AND, I will have to bring the Twilight and New Moon DVDs and have a marathon.

Exciting!

Who would have guessed?

Mom, click the below image to get a better view so you can picture the charcters and get the full effect.

While searching for the above pictures I found 2 more post worthy ones:
Hehehehe...
Too funny!
I need to print this one out!

This was a young lady's birthday cake.
Notice the 4 symbols of each book.
Wow!

Like I said I would, I made dinner for the first time in a long while.
I was disappointed by my "burger".
The meat was WAY too greasey and the "burgers" wouldn't stay together. I ate it though and will eat it again for lunch tomorrow.
The spinach was frozen, but the green beans I made from fresh beans. I took the end off and boiled them in a little water with pepper (my mom told me to do it this way) until they were soft and ready to eat.

Christmas Tags

What do you think of these neat-oh Christmas labels I created online?
I paid $0.99 for them from OfficeMax.
I also got a free dispenser.
Now what do you think of them?
I bet you want your own now.
I am I right?
Hmmmm.....
Okay, you don't have to admit it.
:)

You had to buy them when they were on sale in order to get this price - so hold out, I know they will do another good deal like this soon. They are supposed to be mailing labels, but the way the website lets you create them - you could have made anything. I had seen on a blog (months and months ago - not sure where exactly now) how she did Christmas tags and I thought this would be the best way for me to utilize them. If I lived in a house where I would be a long time I would have bought mailing labels, but I don't plan on being here long enough to need 100 - 250 labels.
Next time they have this deal you should design something. It only allowed me to buy one per account - could have made another account, but I wanted to see how they would turn out first.
You can choose from hundreds of templates (backgrounds), move the picture or words around, and can pick any size and style of font.
Very cool!
I love all the freedom of these.
It will be fun to make more when they have this deal again.

We finally got some much needed rain last night/this morning. When I went to let Wyatt out he wouldn't even pee in the rain. I decided to give him a break and not force him. I figured I would let him out again before I left for work. Luckily, it stopped raining just in time.

Have you ever seen Wyatt eat?
It's a funny sight to see.
Here, he isn't eating as funny as he sometimes does.
Sometimes his whole body is all the way back and just his head reaches his bowl.
The noise when he drops his food in his bowl scares him. :(
It is funny, but I feel bad for my little guy at the same time.

Why Not Some Random

I imagine I owe you all some good posts since I took a whole week to write anything at all. I know I need to have lots to say and write. I am sure I will be doing something fun this weekend which will be worth mentioning. I wont tell you what just yet though. I like to build the suspense like a TV show.
(Yes, I know I am boring!)

Until then, I can share the joy of laundry with you.
In fact, I can hear my dryer spinning right this moment as I type. I want this load dried before I go to sleep.
This is how much I had washed prior to coming home from work today.
I emptied my closet of all the smokey clothes to make room for the clean hopefully smoke free clothes. As you can see, I am washing absolutely everything.
I know they wont be completely smoke free, but I think and hope they will be over the next few weeks.
Everything except for what is in the washer and dryer right now has been hung or folded and placed in its proper place. I am a bit neurotic when it comes to organizing my closet if you can tell.
My life seems to consist only of laundry at the moment.
I really hope the smoke smell comes out of my stuff. I do not enjoy breathing it in.

I did a little shopping today. Had to buy some fruits and veggies and TV dinners to get me through the week.
I already know what I will make for dinner tomorrow. Maybe I will take some pictures to post on here.

What do you think of this little guy?
Looks like he is growing facial hair which I don’t think is suppose to happen.
The worm is supposed to turn colors depending on how much moisture is in the soil to help me know how much water the plant needs. I will probably have to throw him away. The fuzz can’t be a good thing. I can only assume it must be some sort of mold or mildew. And ideas?

These are old cookbooks my mom had bought when my brother and I were small children. I remember flipping through them as I got older and wanting my mom to make all the yummy looking items.
She was going to throw them out so I took them home to flip through them to see if there are any good recipes I can cut out. Always funny to read old cookbooks and see how they used to make certain foods. I remember looking in Greg’s mom’s old cookbook one year when we were making Christmas cookies and all the funny things they wanted you to do. I wish I could remember what they were, but my mind is blank. So glad we no longer have to make everything from 100% scratch. I cannot not even imagine how much work has to go into all that. Just think, once you spent hours cooking breakfast, it was ate in 30 minutes, then you cleaned the kitchen and started making the next meal. No wonder stay at home moms "worked" full-time.
I am extremely lazy when it comes to making dinner. I need to get better about that. I should be thankful for what little I do have to do in comparison.

I'm Still Here :)

Ya, I know it has been almost a week since I last blogged.
I do apologize.
I know a few of you hate when I don't blog for a few days.
It has been a busy week with unpacking, watching TV and hurting my foot though. Plus, you know I hate blogging when I have nothing to say.
I had planned on blogging earlier this evening, but I decided to check my Family Feud points on Facebook.
I was able to buy more things within level 3 to move onto level 4 which gave me 4 more games to play. I have played 3 of them so far. I quit because I was pissed off when I tried to post my fast money game to my friend's wall it froze on me twice and said Internet problem.
Translation - it didn't post 2 of my games and now I wont get those points.
I was so mad! Frustrated!
That is not fair!
I'll get over it - I promise.

You will be glad to hear signing my lease went smoothly.... 6 months like I was told.
I wiped the sweat off my forehead after that one.
:)
So far, no smoke smell.
Sadly, even right now as I type this I am still washing my clothes.
I hope to have them all washed by tomorrow night though. Maybe even all put away.
when I was home this weekend I smelt the stench of smoke still embeded in my clothes. I hope the smell goes away soon.

I have been watching a lot of Weeds.... finished my last 2 episodes of Season 5 today. I cannot believe how it ended! I knew certain things would happen - Matt, we need to discuss this ASAP!
Now I just have to wait and be patient until August 14 or 15 when Season 6 starts. Seems like it will never be here!
Such a good show! So glad I have Showtime! It will end mid-November and I am hoping that by threatening to cancel I will continue to get it free.  I refuse to pay $15/month for a channel I only like one thing on.

Speaking of good things....
Matt and I finally went and saw ECLIPSE!!!!!!!!!
Loved it! I can hardlywait for it to come on video so I can own it and watch it over and over again. I plan on re-reading all the books now. Who knows, maybe we will have to go see it in theater again.
I was very glad to see Rosalie had blond - not yellow - hair again. Looked so much more natural.
I wish they had shown more of the Cullen family. Speaking as a Twilight and Cullen fan, that is who I want to see. Maybe I will get my wish in the next 2 movies. Too bad the next one wont even be out until November 2011.
I loaned my mom the books.... I really hope she reads them. If she falls in love with the series like I did we will have to have a Twilight marathon of the first 2 movies. Then I will really have an excuse to see Eclipse in theater again. Fingers crossed!

Thursday as I was leaving work I twisted my left foot inside my sandal. Of course it became swollen and bruised. But did I let that stop me from going to Walgreens?
NO!
I'm sure I made it worse by walking on it.
I never learn.
So it has been hurting all weekend. I feel it is finally getting better today. I looked like a dork when I walked. You should never make fun of people who walk different. It's not nice.

I'll write more tomorrow. I still gotta let Wyatt out and water my plants.
