Where's The Kitty?

I have not seen the kitten since Wednesday night.
:(
Maggie, a lady I work with had seen him on Tuesday and was going to make the kitten a family member.
But, I still have not seen him.
(I thought he was a girl....Maggie informed me he was a boy....)

Deals and Steals

I feel bad about not posting pictures and prices of what I bought on Saturday from Harris Teeter. Especially since I took my mom to experience her first taste of double coupons! She got some free dish soap....always fun to get!
(I have about 20!)
:)
Matt and I went out to buy a few items this evening. I am trying to only go shopping once or twice a week for now on so I do not spend as much money.
I find if i do not go to the store I save money.
We went to Wal-Mart, Target, and Kroger.
Yes, I hate going to Wal-Mart, but they had a good deal I found out about from a fellow blogger.
I had 5 $2.00 off coupons for paper plates. They were priced at $2.36 each.
If you do the math, I paid $0.36 for 36 plates or $1.80 for 180 plates which was cheaper then buying the Wal-Mart brand plates which were $3.50 for 150.
(I can always use paper plates)

Our next stop was to Target where we did awesome! 2 2-packs of Bounce Dryer Bars $3.79 each
(I have been wanting to try these for a long time)
2 $1.50 off Target coupons
2 $1.50 off manu. coupons
=$0.79 each
Burt Bees Lip Balm $2.99
Free coupon
=FREE
4 Glade Tin holders $1.66 each
4 $1.50 off coupons
=$0.16 each
4 Glade 4-pack of refill candles $2.50 each
4 Buy 1 Tin Get 1 Refill Pack FREE
= FREE
Kroger was good too!
Popsicles are $2.00 each for any variety!
This is a GREAT deal!
To make it even better, I had a coupon from Kroger for $1.00 off 2
I also bought a seedless watermelon for $2.99
The Reese's (Yes, I know I do not need them) are $0.50 each
used 3 B1G1 free coupons
Which doubled and made all 6 FREE!
We got all of these items for about $25!!!
I think we had a good shopping experience.
I hope to only go shopping one more time this week. I really need to do good about spending less money.

TV Bowling With The Wii

My mom and her husband bought a Wii!!!
I am kinda shocked they bought one.
Both me and her husband had been wanting one last Christmas.
Who knows, maybe I will just love it!
If I do, I know how to buy it....cancel my WW and gym membership.
:)
We will see!
I was off from work yesterday and decided to stop by and try it out.
I played two rounds of bowling (I was awful! My score was 42 and then 71... not good at all.)
I then played two rounds of tennis (I lost both games... 2 out 3 wins.)
Next time, I plan on reading the directions before playing.
I did not realize you had to play the way you would in real life.
Plus, I was kinda tired after playing for about 25 minutes!!!!
I think it would be more fun to play with someone.
I will have to stop by this weekend.
Maybe the Wii really can get you in shape!

I'm So Excited..... And I Just Can't Hide It....

WHOOO HOOOO!!!
Guess what?
Harris teeter is doing it again!
They will be doubling coupons up to $1.99 (making it up to $3.98 doubled) starting tomorrow, August 26th through Tuesday.
I will be there!!!!

Proudly Made In the U.S.A.

So I was skipping my Weight Watchers meeting while cooking pork chops and eating Weight Watchers Pecan Crowns (1 point each for those of you counting) a few minutes ago and look what I noticed....
Proudly Made In the U.S.A.

What a phrase!
What a concept!

:)

Not many food items have this on their packaging.

Shoot, not many anythings have this on their packaging anymore!

CRAZY!!!!

Now I am definitely glad I pay the extra money to buy these wonderful chocolates!
I know you are probably reading this thinking, "OMG! What a moron!"
But that is okay.
I am truly amazed and I do not care what you think.

I Love Drive-Ins

We had another nice evening at the drive-in.
I wish it was not so far away.
It is in Waverly, TN.... about an hour away.
(I describe it better in my other post if you want more information.)
Here is what we saw:

I like both the movies!

I took these next two pictures myself.
This is the actual movie screen.
To the left of the screen is where you get into the drive-in.
(No one was really here yet when this picture was taken. We actually got there early this time.)

This is the building where you get your food and drinks and use the restroom.
I fully recommend checking it out sometime if you have never been!
Let me know if you do go. I would love to hear about your experience.

Wyatt Made A Friend

A few weeks ago, there was a small kitten outside.
Wyatt tried to play with her, but the kitten did not want to play with him.
Well, Friday night, the kitten was back!!!
Wyatt wanted to play with her, but she was afraid of him. I just sat outside for awhile petting them both. I gave the kitten some cat food I had gotten free after coupons shortly after I had seen her the first time.
She sure was thirsty!
Saturday morning, she was still outside. Only this time, she wanted to play with Wyatt and he was afraid!
(If you have ever met Wyatt, you know he is a big scardy cat!)

This is her slouching down behind a bush getting ready to run and jump on Wyatt.
It was so cute!
:)
He did not like it though.
It was a nice day out so I had my window open.
The cat wanted in.
Kept meowing and scratching at the door and waiting.
I think this is when Wyatt and her became friends.
An hour or so later she left.
I let Wyatt outside who went and looked for her.
When we came back in, here is what he did.

I think he misses her....
I did not see her this morning.
I am sure we will see her again in a few weeks.

Canned Pickles

Look what Matt's mom gave me?
I had all the cucumbers from Maggie and never did make pickles.
I guess there is always next year!
I bet these will be yummy...at least, I hope!

Thank Goodness It's Friday!!!

I think these cute ducks say it all!

Don't you?
LOL!
I am SOOOO glad the weekend is finally here! I plan on fully enjoying it. I am using a vacation day on Monday which will make this another nice three-day weekend for me.
I still have a few more days to use after this so I am sure I will have one or two more extended weekends coming up.
I plan on going to the drive-in this weekend to see G.I. Joe and The Ugly Truth.
I plan on doing a little shopping.
I plan on renting some movies.
I also plan on eating yummy food.
And, the not so fun stuff....
I plan on working.
I plan on applying for jobs.
Oh, possible good news....
They claim I should know by the end of next week if I will be kept on at my job. I hate this waiting around. I have been there about a year and a half so I am hoping they keep me so they will not have to train someone new. I will keep you posted.

Hot Mama!

I thought this was funny!!!!

Go order you one before they are sold out!

It is FREE by the way!

(Mom and Grandma, I already ordered you both this.....but you should tell your friends about it!)

Day Off With My Fan

Imagine, your perfect day off...
Nice temperature of 78 degrees with sun and a breeze...
Swimming in your very own pool with no noise...
Cold flavored water in a cooler...
Fresh cut fruits and homemade sandwiches in the same cooler...
It is Monday and I am off work....
Nice right?
Except, the day mentioned above is not my day at all!
:(
It is Monday...
And I am off work using a vacation day....
Only, it is not under the best of circumstances.
I am using a vacation day today since I have to use my remaining 5 days before September 11 which is when I might not have a job anymore.
You see, I currently work for someone who only has "a job" till then. On September 12, a new company will be taking over. I have to apply and go through an interview to keep my current job with this new company. And being that life is not perfect, I am not guaranteed a spot. So only time will tell.
So I took off today to give myself a three day weekend to get some stuff done.
Which I did and am still doing.
I slept in till 8:30!! (That is 2 and a half hours longer then I would have been able to sleep if I had to go to work today.)
I have paid all my bills.
Washed 2 loads of laundry (the second load is in the dryer and then I will fold and hang them all up).
Made lunch.
Watched TV.
Planned to apply for more jobs. (I really will do it later this afternoon. I promise!)
Returned my movies to Redbox.
Went to Walgreens.
Walgreens is the real reason I am writing this blog.
I went there to pick up my developed film (more on that later) and to buy two more packages of baby wipes.
:)
Last Sunday I had seen Walgreens had there fans all half off.
I never did buy one.
I attempted to at one point, but it rang up full price and the guy said that is what it was ringing even though the store sign said half off. So needless to say, I did not buy it.
Well, I went there today and they were half off again (they were not yesterday).
I decided to buy one.
I like fans. I love my ceiling ones!
I thought it would be nice to have one blow on me directly.
So I picked out the same one I wanted when I was there last weekend with my mom.
I would like to point out that I put this together ALL BY MYSELF!!!!!
Go me!!!
Here is a closer picture of the box in case you want this one.
I think it is a good fan. I was a little nervous since I had never heard of the brand, but I liked it since it had a remote. (I'm lazy!)
It does make some noise, but the fan and the remote work really well. The remote took 2 triple A batteries. When you press any button on the remote, it makes a beep sound. I like that too!
Wanna know how much I paid?
I'll tell you.
So half off $40.00 is $20.00.
I used $12.00 in register Rewards.
Bought 50 pictures (more on that in a minute)
1 package of Huggie wipes
1 $0.49 roll of toilet paper (filler item)
For a grand total of $11.49!
Plus, I got a mail-in rebate form for $10.00!!!
So in the end, I will have gotten all that for $1.46!
Jealous?
Don't be!
You can get your own for $20.00 then the $10.00 mail-in rebate form.
Make sure it rings up half off. Mine didn't and it had to be price adjusted. They were nice about it.
I already mailed mine off when I got home so in 8 to 10 weeks I will get my rebate check!
(The rebate form did not say to mail in the receipt or UPC so I did nto include it. I hope I didn't have to.)
About the picture I bought.... right now on Walgreens.com when you order 25 pictures (today only), use the coupon code "PENNY"
You will receive your 25 pictures for $0.25!!!
I have two email accounts and did this twice!

Deals At Walgreens

Let me start off by saying I did this in several transactions.
The little red items you see are the Glade 2 OZ soy based candles that had a coupon last week in the paper making them FREE! I had 5 coupons so I bought 5. I was worried these would be sold out so I did several transactions to get mine. Right now, there are several left at the Walgreens on Madison Street that I went to.
Progresso soup is 4 for $5 with store coupon
I bought 9 somehow (I thought I only had 8.... but that is okay since I might go get more anyways).
I bought 2 mailing envelopes for $0.49 and I had 2 coupons to make them FREE.
6 Huggies Wipes (did in 6 different transactions) for $2.99 minus $2.00 off store coupon. I also bought 2 newspapers and saw there is $0.50 off coupons in it which would make these even cheaper. I wanted to buy these for my face and to stock up for baby showers.
3 Starbuck's drinks for $1.25 each with store coupon. I then had 3 coupons for $1 off each making these $0.25 a piece.
4 Mac and Cheese cups for $1.00 each and I had 2 coupons for B1G1 free meaning 4 for $2.00 then there was $1.00 store coupon but the lady would not let me use it. Oh well I guess!
1 Softsoap body wash for $3.99 which gave back $4.00 register Reward.
I spent $12.27 for all this!
Used $12.00 in register Rewards
Gained $4.00 in Register Rewards
So it is like I paid $20.00.... I feel I did good!

Free 8x10 Picture

Use coupon code "8x10" to receive 1 free 8x10 picture!
TODAY ONLY!!!

Easier Mail Opener

Last Sunday's newspaper had a bunch of different Scotch coupons in it that I decided to clip in case they went on sale since I figured you do not see these coupons very often.
Well, I am glad I did!
While in Walgreens on Franklin Road, I saw these:
They were on clearance for $1.69 and I had coupons for $1.00 making them $0.69 each. They were marked down to $6.99 at first which makes me wonder how much these are ordinary. I would not pay more then what I paid though.
I could have bought 6, but figured 3 was enough. I am keeping one for myself and the rest might be stocking stuffer items. (I should quit posting these stocking stuffer items since my family reads my blog.....)
If you live in the area and are wanting one... they had about 10 or so left.

I Bought All This For $52.11!!!!

Not bad at all!
I love when Harris Teeter does triple coupons up to $0.99 and then Kroger follows in suit!
I got a lot of junk food.... so it will be spaced out. I wish there were more coupons for healthier items, but that is life.
I am not going to tell you how much I paid for what since that takes too much time. But do know, I also got a case of water with this total.
There were a few items I still wanted but were sold out. I wish I lived closer so I could have went there on the first day of this sale.
On second thought, I will list what I bought, just not prices.
4 12-packs of Pepsi products
1 24-pack of bottles water
4 Fruit 2 O single bottles of water
3 24-packs of Luzianne tea
12 cups of easy mac
6 Betty Crocker cookies
3 4-packs of YoPlus yogurt
5 6-packs of Jello pudding
2 6-packs of BabyBell cheese
2 pouches of Sunkist tuna
3 Betty Crocker Frosting
2 bags of WW candy
4 4-packs of Dole gel fruit cups
1 jar of Dole pineapples
6 bottles of Masterpiece BBQ
6 boxes of Hamburger Helper
8 boxes of Jello
3 Pillsbury Biscuits
2 Pillsbury french bread
2 24-count Lysol wipes

Between coupons being tripled and my Kroger Plus and VIC card saving me money, I saved a total of $161.79 on all of this!!!!!!!!!
I also met 2 nice people.
The first lady I met was behind us at the check-out line in Kroger. She said she was enjoying watching our savings with coupons and wanted to know how we did it. I just explained to her I buy several newspapers each week and look at blogs online. She wanted to know which blogs in particular so I named mine (of course) and a few others. Hopefully she gets online and gets into couponing to save money.
The second lady I met was at Harris Teeter. She had a coupon binder like mine and I asked her if she had already been to Kroger (that is we went first). She didn't know Kroger was tripling! So we told her where it was. Hope she went and found some good bargains!

Fresh Breath and Writing Sticks

Walgreens has finally got there act together and are offering good register rewards again. I bought the Listerine 3 for $9 and you get back $6 in Register Rewards.
Meaning, they are $1 a piece.
To make things sweeter, use coupons from last week's newspaper.
$5 off 3
or
$3 off 2
or
$1 off 1
Stock up if you have these....I did.
The BIC pens were FREE! You can print coupons from the Internet or use coupons from this week's newspaper.
They cost $0.50 a pack and the coupon in the newspaper or from the Internet are for $1 off 2.

Clean Closet

These pictures did not post in the order I wanted them to, but you will see what I am talking about at least.

I have a closet in my living room that I have always used to store extra kitchen items.

I decided to store more items in here.

(I wanted to get as many items out of my bottom kitchen cabinets as I could.)

Lots of cereal, right?

I love cereal!

Plus I bought them for almost nothing.

The black storage unit has always been in here to hold food and pots and pans.

I moved the white/clear cart into this room to store more items such as all ziplock bags and foil and small pans.

The top drawer is still empty for now since I am debating what to put in it.

I think I will some plastic food containers in there.

Who knows....

Kroger Is The Bomb!

Remember I told you Wyatt is nosy?
And Wyatt likes to be in my pictures?
He did it again!
Kroger had GREAT deals on make-up.
Buy and four Cover Girl Products and get $4.00 off the total.
Plus, since I bought many newspapers last week, I had plenty of Cover girl coupons!
$2.50 off 2 products and $1.00 off 1 product.
I think I spent about $10.00 or so on all of this.
Must of that cost is due to tax.
Awesome deals!

Good deal on Bounce too!
Wish they had more of these!
I like to look at the clearance rack at Kroger (and every other store) because sometimes you can find some really good buys.
I did not buy find this on the clearance rack though.
I found it mixed in with the other dryer sheets as if someone had wanted it and then changed there mind. My gain!
I also used a coupon for $0.25 off which doubled to $0.50 off.
So I paid $2.09 for 120 dryer sheets!

I love Back to school products!
These were 2 for $1.00 at Kroger!
I have 4 coupons for $1.00 off 2 BIC products from coupons.com
I decided to only use 1 coupon for now to get these 2 packs for free!

These would have came in handy when I gave out peach pie and zucchini bread.

These were on sale for $1.99 from $3.59 each. I had 2 $0.50 off coupons which doubled to $1.00 off each. Meaning I paid $1.00 each!

Kroger rocks!

Homemade Zucchini Bread

Zucchini-Pecan Flaxseed Bread
From Cooking Light Magazine
(June or July 2005)
My friend Patti makes this all the time and gave me the recipe so I am sharing it with you.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cap granulated sugar
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups shredded zucchini
1 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup egg substitute
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Shred the zucchini.

Place 2 cups of zucchini on paper towels and pat down with more paper towels to remove the excess water from the veggie.
Put the zucchini aside.
Mix the first ten items in a bowl. (All dry items... up to nutmeg.)
Whisk it to make sure it is fully mixed.
In a second bowl, combine the yogurt, egg substitute, oil, and vanilla. Stir well with a whisk. Add zucchini - mix.
Add pecans to dry ingredients.
Add the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Make sure it is fully mixed.
Pour batter into pans.
Cook for 1 hour on 350 degrees.
Cool in pan on cooling rack for ten minutes.
Remove bread from pan, place on wire rack.

Looks and tastes yummy!
